Ranked 6th of the 10 best cities to retire abroad by Forbes, the vibrant Kuala Lumpur has much to offer. Connectivity within Kuala Lumpur is better than ever as its public transport is now well integrated with the introduction of the MRT. Moreover, vicinities surrounding the scientific congress and AGM such as Bukit Bintang and KLCC can be frequented via designated covered walking pathway linking main attractions and hotels. E-hail services such as UBER and GRAB are aplenty.
If you are visiting the city, Kuala Lumpur has much to offer from dining and shopping to keeping fit such as a hike in Gasing Hill or a round of golf! Log on to our webpage for more information.

58th MMA AGM in Kuala Lumpur: It’s always a historic mark for the Association!
June 2018 will mark as the 58th Annual General Meeting of MMA and this time the venue will be at the Royal Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The very first MMA AGM was on the 31st March 1961 at General Hospital Kuala Lumpur and after that Wilayah hosted the AGM at 8 different occasions. If the inaugural AGM is included with the coming AGM in June, thus Kuala Lumpur will record a total of 10 AGMs!
In the sixties and seventies, the AGMs were just about the constitutional agenda and will often last within a day. The re branding and expansion occurred over the years and now we have a three day meeting, full of activities ranging from serious business, dinners, fellowship and games.
This year we shall re-brand the AGM and promote activities that are relevant to the current generation. Continuous Professional Development [CPD] will have a day of its own which will provide annual amount of points to all delegates.
Kuala Lumpur has a lot to offer although some may feel it’s a mundane place. Surprisingly it has a lot of tourist attraction not been discovered by most of us. We often perceive KL as a destination for meetings, education, meeting relatives and to conduct big events! The organizing committee will be arranging special trips to some of the great tourist attractions in KL and Putrajaya.
The business session of the AGM will be more organized with precise timings for concise discussion for the benefit of the members. A lot of the routine agenda will be modulated well to avoid wastage of time.
We hope that all the top officials and VVIPs will grace this years AGM as it’s in the heart of the country. MMA needs to have the attention of some of these dignitaries as we indeed represent most of the doctors in the country. It is hope that this AGM will bring in more members in the future after rebranding its content.
Please look out for registration forms online or in the coming BERITA issues and we look forward for a good group of members from all over the nation.
See you in June!
